Tafadzwa Chanakira

BORN:
16th September 1983 in Guruve

EDUCATION:
Tafadzwa spent his primary education at Nyanhunzi primary school and then completed his ordinary level studies at Magaya secondary school in Guruve.

CAREER:
He was inspired by his father to do art; his first sculpture was done in 2001. He created many sculptures but selling his first piece of work gave him belief and confidence which made him want to work hard and to keep improving. He created different things which got him known by lots of clients from different countries. He also worked with experienced men such as Wedson Tadzimirwa and Jack Jonasi they taught him other techniques on how to make sculptures. He now teaches others how make sculptures, caring for tools and safety during work. His inspiration for his abstract creations come from the surrounding environment in which he works, this also helps when he is giving his pieces their manes. Tafadzwa hopes that his work will been known around the world so he can be come a renowned artist
