Sculptures for Sale – Where did they go in 2018?

Here at The Sculpture Park, we have over 1000 Sculptures for sale. Visitors often ask who buys our sculptures or where a particular sculpture was sold to.  In this blog we would like to share some of the new homes our sculptures have found this year:

Strongman

We received an email request from a gentleman in New York who had fallen in love with a particular Zimbabwe sculpture. He had seen it during a UK visit to a museum, which didn’t have sculptures for sale. Our client wanted something similar for his home. He sent us a photo which we passed to our Shona expert who was able to quickly identify the artist. We tracked him down and managed to commission a similar piece, which was carved in Zimbabwe. On completion it was shipped to the UK along with the rest of our ‘Spirit in Stone’ Exhibition that began in August 2018. We made sure the piece was right for our client then sent it on to New York, where it now guards the entrance to his private gym!

Chesterfield sofa and chairs

A civil engineer design company from Norway saw our Concrete Chesterfields online and got in touch. They felt the sofas would make the perfect centrepiece for a public display they were creating. The display was to pay tribute to a popular band called Kaizers Orchestra that came from the town, but had split up 3 years previous. In their heyday, Kaizers Orchestra had been very popular in Denmark and Germany and had adorned their stage set with furniture and oil barrels.

We shipped the suite to the client and, along with an oversized steel floor lamp; it now makes up a durable work of public art.

Lifesize Visitor

Following on from a successful purchase of a bronze visitor, a customer from North Carolina was so happy with his new friend that he wanted another. But being an American, he wanted bigger! Luckily, we also stock the limited edition Lifesize Visitors sculptures for sale so this made the perfect companion for his curious figure. They are both now happily basking up the sun on his newly built terrace.

Nineteen

During a visit to The Sculpture Park, a visitor from New Zealand came across ‘Nineteen’, one of our sculptures for sale, and wanted to take her home.  Not having enough space in her suitcase, we set about organising shipping so that the piece arrived on the South Island soon after her new owner. The sculpture of the teenage girl has now been named after a friend’s granddaughter, whom, on seeing the piece, said she was ‘beautiful, just like me!’

Giant Spearhead

We often take our sculptures for sale to temporary displays or exhibitions to reach new audiences. While exhibiting at Fresh Art Fair in Cheltenham, we were visited by a wonderful family from Scotland. They admired our stand and picked some monumental pieces to adorn their Glasgow garden; A Giant Spearhead and 2 Bronze Visitors.  Wanting to ensure they were happy customers, we accompanied the sculptures to their new home to install them safely. In doing so, we were rewarded with the pleasure of some delightful Scottish hospitality!
