Liam O'Neill
LIVES:
Since 1992 Liam O'Neill has worked from his own Studio at Spiddal, Co. Galway.
EARLY LIFE:
In 1968 Liam began working under John Shiel as a wood turner, after that he worked for 11 years at the wood turning section of Retos, This is a rehabilitation centre for handicapped adults. While he was working there he attended courses in advanced woodturning.
EDUCATION:
In 1984 he was awarded the Dr Muriel Gahan Scholarship to the USA to travel and study under leading American wood turners.
AWARDS:
Liam won first prize in the Royal Dublin Society’s Craft Competition.
