Joe Mutasa

1964, Rusape, Zimbabwe

LIVES:
Zimbabwe

EARLY LIFE:
Mutasa believes he was born an artist. Art was his favourite subject at school and he was always making charts and maps. His older brother Gregory began carving busts and animals, and through watching him, Joe began to work in stone himself.

EDUCATION:
Joe completed school and enrolled in college to study Public Relations, but he decided to give up this as a career choice and followed his passion of sculpting full time.

CAREER:
Mutasa became bored with realism and wanted a change of direction so he found himself at the Chapungu Sculpture Park , he became more serious about expressing ones feelings in his work, and his work consistently shows great technical skills.
