Jacob Epstein

Jacob Epstein (1880-1959) was an American-British sculptor who was a pioneer in the modernist movement and was associated with the most avant-garde artists of the day such as Pablo Picasso and playwright George Bernard Shaw. Born in the United States and moved to Europe in 1902. Epstein produced controversial works which challenged ideas on what was appropriate subject matter for public artworks.
