Eli Ilan

BORN:
Canada born Israeli Sculptor 1928 – 1982

CAREER:
Eli studied at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver doing a premedical course. He immigrated to Israel in 1948 where he studied pre-historic archaeology and physical anthropology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1956, he returned to Canada to study sculpture at the Ontario College of Art & Design, followed by further training in Criminal Identification Techniques in Ottawa. He then returned to Israel, where he served four years in the Israeli Police Force. He is most known for his monumental work 'Dolmenic Arch I' (1981), at Tel Aviv University Campus.
