CAREER:
After a real challenge trying to find employment in Clares choosen field she was eventually taken on by an artist in Dorking, she then went on join an architectural metal work specialist. After 3 years at university and another 3 years spent working for different companies she decided to go self employed and hasn’t looked back since.

AWARDS:
In July 2013 Clare won first prize in the Headgear category at Art Couture Painswick for my ‘Environment: Stable’ piece, which was inspired by Poseidon’s Hippocamps: mythical creatures that are half horse, half fish. She was also awarded a Heads About the Rest trophy.Clare has recently featured in several publications, including The Country Blacksmith by David McDougall, books about the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley by photographer Chris Morris, and the Art Couture sourcebook.

SUBJECTS OF WORK:
Mother Nature, Dali, Picasso, HR Giger and Gaudi have all been a big influence in Clares work. However her love of motorbikes especially custom built choppers inspired her to want to work with metal.
