Alison Catchlove

EDUCATION:
Diploma in Art and Design with a Degree in Fine Art (Sculpture) from Loughborough University.
CAREER:
Catchlove spent several years in employment whilst exhibiting sculpture in her spare time. From 2009 she devoted herself to sculpting full time, selling her work through galleries, exhibitions, the internet and working to commission.
She spends much of her time working with children, bringing metal sculpture workshops into schools, which allows children as young as 4 or 5 to experience working with “grown up” tools and metal.

SUBJECTS OF WORK:
Alison’s work centres on nature and expresses a sense of humour and whimsy in the sculptures, often using bright colours or awkward poses which inject her quirky style.
Birds are a favourite subject and inspiration of Alison’s, forever presenting new ideas and possibilities as her work evolves.
